Ingredients
1.Prawns - 1kg
2. Onion- 3
3.Red Chilly powder -1 1/2tsp
4..Kashmiri Chilly powder- 1 1/2 tsp
5.Turmeric powder -1 tsp
6.Green Chilly-3( cut length wise )
7.Ginger and garlic (chopped) - 2tbsp

8.Curry leaves- few
9.Coconut Oil- 2 tbsp
10.Tamarind juice- 1tbsp
11.coriander powder - 1tbsp
12.coconut slices cut into 1' piece -10
Salt-to taste

method:
1.Peel prawns and remove veins if it is not already cleaned. .Take a pan ,add water and cook prawns in it with salt and turmeric powder .when it is almost cooked add tamarind juice and cook till the gravy is dry.
2. chop onions finely.
3. heat oil in a pan and fry coconut slices till brown in colour. and keep aside.
4. add onions to the pan and fry till golden brown .
5.add chopped ginger garlic and green chilly and fry for few seconds.
6. add chilly powder, corriander powder and mix well.
7.Now add the cooked prawns and curry leaves and keep on low flame till the prawns are well covered with the masala .
8.add the fried coconut slices and mix well. Remove from fire and transfer into a serving bowl and decorate with curry leaves and green chilly .

ReplyDeleteThis is a nice dish and I love prawn. I dont know where to get edible coconut oil in Delhi. I dont want to try with other while oil. So I will wait.
May be when I travel to Kerala I will get some.
