Ingredients:
Cheera / spinach - 2 bunch
Chakkakuru/ jackfruit seed - 10
Coconut - 4tbsp
Green chily-1
Small onions - 3
Turmeric powder 1/2tsp
Chilly powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste.
seasoning:
oil 2 tbsp
mustard seed ,
rice,
urad dal 1/4 tsp each
red chilly 2
curry leaves- few
method:
clean chakkauru and cut them into long thin pieces.
In a vessel take enough water and add chakakkuru ,1/4 tsp turmeric powder and salt.cook till soft.
Crush coconut along with onions and green chilly.
wash cheera well and chop them finely.
Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seed, urad dal, rice and once it turn to brown colour add red chilly and curry leaves.
Add chopped cheera and stir well. Then add turmeric powder, salt and chilly powder. mix well, cover and cook till the leaves are soft.
Now add coconut mixture and stir well.
Add the cooked chakkakuru( drain the excess water ) and mix well.
Stir well and remove from fire. Serve with rice and curry.
