Dal Makhani



Ingredients :
1 Cup whole blacklentil (urad dal)
1 Tbsp red kidney beans ( Rajma)
1 Onion finely chopped
1 Tomato finely chopped
1 Tbsp ginger & garlic finely chopped
2 Or 3 green chilly finely chopped
1Tsp stirred curd
1/2 Cup fresh cream
2 Tbsp Butter
1Tbsp oil
1 Tsp cumin seeds
1/4 Tsp turmeric powder
1/2Tsp garam masala powder
1 Tsp corriander powder
1/2 Tsp chilly powder
Salt to taste
Chopped corriander leaves

Method :

Soak rajma and urad dal overnight.pressure cook  adding enough water and salt till soft or about 20 to 25 minutes . (After the 3 whistles  lower the flame)
Open the lid and mash and boil for another 10 minutes.Add curd and cream to the dal mixture.
Heat oil in a pan and splutter cumin seeds.Add onions and fry till lightly brown. Add chopped ginger, garlic,  green chillies and saute till the raw smell leaves. Add tomato and saute for a minute.
Now add the dry masala powders and fry for few seconds.
Add dal and stir on medium flame .when it starts boiling remove from the stove.
Sprinkle garam masala powder.
Add butter and garnish with  chopped corriander leaves.
Serve hot with nan or roti ..
