~Cheera thoran~

Cheera ( spinach) -- a bunch
small onion--2
green chillies --2
coconut --1/4 cup
curry leaves -- few
turmeric powder --1/4 tsp
chilly powder--1/4 tsp
salt to taste
for seasoning
oil 2tbsp
mustard -1/4 tsp
urad dal --1/4 tsp
rice --1tsp
red chilly 1
method:
soak spinach in water for sometime to get rid of the sand.wash well under running water.drain thoroughly and chop them finely.
crush coconut , green chillies and onions roughly.
heat the oil in a pan and add mustard, urad dal. rice .red chilly and curry leaves.when they splutter
add cheera , turmeric and salt.Keep the pan covered for 1 minute to wilt the spinch
Now open the lid and add coconut mixture.uncover and cook on medium flame for another 5 minutes till the water evaporates. serve with rice.
