Ingredients:
Muringakol - 250 gms
Tuvar dal - 1cup
Coconut -1/2 cup
Green chilly -2
Shallot - 4
Turmeric powder -1tsp
Red chilly powder -1tsp
salt to taste
Seasoning:
Oil - 1tbsp
Mustard seed -1tsp
Urad dal - 1tsp
Red chilly -2
Curry leaves -few
Curry leaves -few
Wash dal and cook till 3/4 done ,adding enough water, salt and turmeric powder.
Crush coconut along with shallot and green chillies.
Heat oil in a pan and add mustard .when it splutter , add urad dal red chilly and curry leaves. Now add muringakol,.turmeric powder, salt and red chilly powder and stir well. Add few drops of water. cover and cook on a low flame.
Once the muringakol is cooked, open the lid and add the cooked dal and stir well.
Add coconut mixture and mix well. keep on a low fire till all the ingredients are mixed well and are dry.Serve as a side dish with rice.
